Rudolph Marks Rodkinson, old-time Jewish actor who was known on the stage as Rudolph Marks, and who later became a lawyer, died yesterday in his sixty-fourth year. He is survived by his widow, two daughters and a son.
Mr. Rodkinson was born in Odessa, Russia, and appeared on the Yiddish stage in London at the age of 15. He later came to America and was featured in various productions with Jacob Adler, Max and Sophie Karp, Boris Thomashefsky, and Bertha Kalisch. He also produced “The Bowery Tramp” at the old Oriental Opera House on the Bowery.
He retired from the stage at an early age, to take up law, insisting that the stage was not progressing. He had since built up a considerable law practice.
