Rumania took her first actions today to implement the newly-promulgated anti-Jewish law providing for the ousting of the majority of her 450,000 Jews from economic positions.
The board of the autonomous Monopoly Administration decided to expel Jews from the tobacco-selling business within 30 days, except those who can qualify for the war veterans’ exemption provided in the law, the German wireless reported.
Following the barring of all sports clubs with Jewish members from athletic competitions, the Trainers’ Association has decided to turn out all Jewish trainers and deprive them of the right to work in Rumanian clubs, the German report said. The Rumanian Football Association will decide on the exclusion of all Jewish functionaries and referees.
