A large number of Jewish university graduates, including doctors, lawyers and technicians, have been denied admission to the qualifying examinations for inclusion in the army’s reserve of officers. No reason has been given for the discrimination. All men involved spent several months in preparatory courses for the examinations.
A number of Jewish officers in the army have not been assigned to active service following mobilization because, it is understood, the authorities did not want to place “pure” Rumanians in the position of having to obey orders by Jews.
