Rumania has become a new way station for Jews emigrating from the Soviet Union to Israel, it was disclosed today. A large group of Russian immigrants landed at Lod Airport today on an El Al flight from Bucharest. Two more plane loads arrived from Vienna which has been the main transit point for Jews leaving the USSR. While the Vienna route has not been abandoned, many Jewish emigres are now traveling to Rumania by train or plane. Rumania is the only Communist bloc country that has maintained diplomatic and trade relations with Israel since the Six-Day War.
