RUMANIA’S VERSION OF THE “COLONIAL QUESTION” WAS IN FRENCH FOREIGN MINISTER DELBOS’ HANDS TODAY AS HE COMPLETED THE SECOND LEG OF HIS CENTRAL EUROPEAN TOUR. RUMANIA, WHILE HAVING NO SPECIFIC COLONIAL DEMANDS, WOULD LIKE TO BE AMONG THE BENEFICIARIES OF ANY PLAN FORMULATED TO ABSORB EUROPE’S EXCESS POPULATIONS, THE VISITING STATESMAN WAS TOLD HERE DURING HIS DISCUSSIONS WITH PREMIER GEORG TATARESCU AND FOREIGN MINISTER VICTOR ANTONESCU.

HE WAS ASSURED THAT RUMANIA IS PREPARED TO HELP ORGANIZE A GENERAL EMIGRATION PROJECT AND FINANCE THE EXPATRIATION OF ITS OWN NATIONALS IF A PLAN TO ABSORB EXCESS POPULATIONS IN OVERSEAS TERRITORY IS ADVANCED. RUMANIA’S PARTICIPATION IN SUCH A PLAN WILL NOT BE PREJUDICED BY RACIAL OR RELIGIOUS CONSIDERATIONS, THE FRENCH FOREIGN MINISTER WAS TOLD.
