The Rumanian Government has protested to the Israel Government against the “hostile propaganda carried out by certain organizations in Israel with regard to Rumania,” the press reported here today.
The reports added that the Rumanian Government denied that the recent mass trials of Zionist and Jewish communal leaders had an anti-Semitic character. The Rumanian Government was also reported as accusing Israel of preventing “by various means” the return to Rumania of Rumanian Jews.
