The Union of Rumanian Students today backed the Iron Guard in its death threat to King Carol and other Rumanian statesmen, and held demonstrations of sympathy with the anti-Semitic organization all over the country.

Recalling the warning of Cornelius Codreanu, Iron Guard chief, to kill the officials if Rumania ever entered a war on the side of Soviet Russia, the student organization telegraphed King Carol:

“We would rather die than fail to achieve our aim. We therefore give full approval to Codreanu’s manifesto.”

The union includes ninety per cent of the university students of Rumania. It is violently anti-Semitic.
