For the second successive voyage the Rumanian liner Transylvania has brought to Israel considerably less than the number of immigrants it can handle. The vessel arrived at Haifa today with 768 passengers, about half the number it can transport.
The newcomers report that representations have been made to the Rumanian authorities against the system of notifying and processing immigrants leaving for Israel which, they claim, is responsible for the falling off of immigration. These sources say that applicants for emigration currently receive only two or three days notice of permission to sail. Many, unable to liquidate their businesses and settle their personal affairs on such short notice, do not report to Constanza in time to make the sailing.
