The Rumanian Jewish Party, led by Mishu Benvenisti, and the Union of Rumanian Jews, headed by Dr. William Filderman, today announced that they will launch a joint campaign to force the government to fulfill its election promises to the Jews.
The first move in the campaign will be for the Jewish parties to make representations to the parties composing the Democratic Bloc which supported the government during the elections. The decision was reached at a joint meeting of representatives of the two Jewish groups, following a statement by Benvenisti charging that the government had failed to revise the citizenship laws as they affected the Jews and had delayed action on the trial of the persons responsible for the Jassy massacre during the war.
