A resolution calling on the United Nations to take immediate steps to halt the fighting in Palestine was adopted here today at a mass meeting sponsored jointly by the Democratic Jewish Committee and the Federation of Jewish Communities.

A huge crowd, including representatives of the Rumanian civil and military authorities, commemorated at Bistritza the fourth anniversary of the wholesale deportation of the Transylvanian Jews to the Auschwitz and Theresienstadt prison camps.

The procession paraded through Bistritza where a ghetto has been established since 1944. At the monument dedicated to the victims of terror, the assemblage was addressed by the district prefect, the town mayor and delegates of the army and trade unions.
