Rumania’s Chief Rabbi, Moshe Rosen, has rejected applications by many Rumanian villagers to be converted to Judaism, Israel Radio reported Thursday. Rosen was reported to feel that the villagers, from isolated villages in Transylvania, had never had any connections with Jews or Jewry.
