The Juedische Rundschau, Zionist organ, today held unjustified the attempts of Nazi newspapers to link David Frankfurter’s assassination of Wilhelm Gustloff, Nazi leader, with “world Jewry.”
The brief notice in the Zionist weekly was the only mention of the trial in Chur, Switzerland, to be found in the Jewish press. It pointed out that responsible Jewish organizations abroad as well as in Germany had condemned the act as contradictory to Jewish ethics and religion.
In the Nazi press, even reports of King Edward’s abdication were subordinated to reports of the Chur trial, which continued to be featured in all papers.
