The Juedische Rundschau, organ of the German Zionist Federation, published an editorial today criticizing the Jewish Agency for Palestine in connection with the Palcor News Agency’ belated denial of a story by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, released Nov. 24, which reported Zionist leaders voting to support political parity between Arabs and Jews.
Voicing wonder as to why the denial was so late, the editorial declares:
“It is easily imaginable how the denial originated. Apparently circles representing a minority of the Small Actions Committee, who denied forwarding an ultimatum to the Executive, however insisted that the Executive make some kind of statement. In a situation where everyone wishes to preserve Jewish unity, it was apparently thought wiser to choose a non-committal formula. We fear, however, developments much speedier than the decisions of the Small Actions Committee and the principles debated in that committee will soon anyway be of no actual value.”
