The Soviet Government never acknowledged a request by the Israel Government to let Israel know whether the USSR had any materials that were relevant to the trial of Adolf Eichmann, Minister of Justice Dov Joseph told the Knesset (Parliament) here today.
Mr. Joseph made the statement in reply to a question on the floor of the House as to whether East European countries had sent any materials or had cooperated with Israel in the case against Eichmann, the former Gestapo colonel accused of crimes against Jews and crimes against humanity in the annihilation of 6,000,000 European Jews during the Nazi regime.
The Justice Minister said that Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia did provide Israel with materials relating to Eichmann. Bulgaria replied to the request sent all East European countries on this subject that it had nothing relevant. Rumania did not send anything. The Moscow Government did not acknowledge the request.
