Russia is reportedly calling on Germany to pay some $2.7 billion to compensate Nazi-era slave laborers. Russia has taken part in settlement talks since March, but only now has presented its claim. The demand complicates already difficult negotiations, which also involve 16 German firms, representatives of Holocaust survivors, and the governments of Germany, the United States and Eastern European nations.
