Israel and the Soviet Union today signed a two-year contract under which Israel will buy 18 to 20 million dollars worth of oil, it was reported from Moscow. The oil will be refined at the Haifa refineries.
Negotiations are also under way for the purchase of Soviet oil drilling equipment, the report said. When contracts are signed they will also provide for Russian technicians to go to Israel to help operate the new machinery, Moscow officials stated.
