A group of visiting Russian journalists was surrounded by chanting Jewish demonstrators who attempted to hand them leaflets condemning alleged Soviet mistreatment of the Jews here last night. The demonstration, outside the Biltmore Hotel, was the second since Monday directed against the Soviet newsmen. It brought a telegram of apology from Norman Isaacs, president of the American Society of Newspaper Editors which is sponsoring the 18-day tour by the Russians. Some members of the group were reported to have been upset. But they smiled as they left the hotel and refused to take the leaflets thrust at them. The demonstrators who said they were members of the California Students for Soviet Jewry, chanted, “Let my people go.”
