The British press reports today that Russian troops who occupied Lublin captured a concentration camp which the Germans had converted into one of the largest “death camps” for Jews.
Hundreds of thousands of Jews are reported to have died there from starvation, epidemics and in gas chambers. The camp is believed to have been the site of a revolt by Jewish prisoners last year during which they attempted to burn down the gas chambers.
