Mrs. Hermine Braunsteiner Ryan, who was deported from the U.S. in 1973 for falsifying her Nazi activities during World War II, will go on trial for war crimes in Dusseldorf Nov. 26, it was reported here today. The former Queens housewife and 13 other defendants will be tried on charges of participating in the murders of 250,000 Jews in Nazi concentration camps, the West German Prosecutor’s office said.

Mrs. Ryan was a concentration camp guard during the war. She married an American and acquired U.S. citizenship in 1963. Her failure to report a war crimes conviction by an Austrian court resulted in action by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization service which led to the revocation of her citizenship and deportation to West Germany.
