Salomon arrived here from England in 1937. He was the publisher of the Jewish Post, the only Jewish daily newspaper to be printed in English in the British capital, which continued publication for about a year. His museum and galleries in London served as the British Empire headquarters of the World Alliance to Combat Anti Semitism. He was reported to own at least 50 noted paintings, including the works of Rembrandt and Van Gogh, besides considerable Hebrew art.
