The dream of a life time has come true for Sam Rothstein. Last night he and his wife, their elven-year old son and five-year-old daughter boarded a train for New York, where they will sail, January 31, on the Aquitania to make their home in Palestine.
For twenty-five years, the eyes of Sam Rothstein have been turned to “Eretz Yisroel,” the land of Israel. He built a prospering business as a bay maunfaturer, became president of the Zionist Organization, founded the Young Judea movement in Vancouver, headed a Jewish National Fund drive, is a B’nai B’rith officer became a member of the Community Chest board of governors and treasurer of Shaarey Zedek congregation.
“But always my heart longed for Palestine,” Sam Rothstein explained. “I want my children to learn to speack Hebrew there as theri native tongue, to live in the Jewish atmosphere, to help build again a Jewish homeland.
“And now I will fulfill my dream. My family will stay in Palestine, but this summer I plan to return to Vancouver to dispose of my busioness and to take my fifteen-year-old son, now in high school, back with me to the Holy land.”
