Following closely upon the establishment of a trust fund of $100,000, the income of which was made available for local philanthropic purposes, Mr. and Mrs. S.D. Wise announced their further gift of $50,000 to the Jewish Welfare Federation.
The present gift will in large part be added to the S. D. and May Wise Foundation.
Mr. Wise has for years been one of the community’s most generous supporters. In 1906 he provided Summer camp facilities for children and mothers by a grant of twenty acres of land. In 1915 he gave $50,000 for a nurses home for Mount Sinai Hospital.
