The Kantarschi Synagogue in Jassy was destroyed Sunday evening by incendiaries who made their escape in safety. The interior of the synagogue was found to have been drenched with petroleum and then fired. The resulting blaze gutted the building completely, leaving it almost a total wreck. Only the sefer torahs, sacred scrolls of the law, were found miraculously untouched.
