A 70-year-old Jewish congregation in Cairo was the recipient of Rosh Hashanah greetings from President Anwar Sadat of Egypt yesterday, it was reported here. Sadat sent a special representative to convey his message to Chaar Hachami Synagogue celebrating the Jewish New Year. The 90-member congregation responded with a prayer for success of Egyptian-Israeli peace negotiations and begged God “to end the conflict between the two countries and bless the area with peace.”
There will be no Bulletin dated Oct. 9 due to Columbus Day, a postal holiday and no Bulletins dated Oct. II and 12 due to Yom Kippur.
