Saint Thomas Church in New York is holding a March 28 benefit concert to raise funds for a nearby synagogue. After a five-alarm fire devastated the Central Synagogue last summer, congregants have been holding services in their community center across the street. Restoration of the synagogue is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
