THE ROYAL COMMISSION REPORT ON PALESTINE HAS PROVED TO BE SUCH A BEST SELLER THAT SALES OF THE 404 PAGE VOLUME HAVE COMPLETELY DEFRAYED THE COSTS OF THE SIX-MONTH INQUIRY AND LEFT A PROFIT.
THE FIRST PRINTING OF 10,000 COPIES, OFFERED FOR SALE JULY 8 AT SIX SHILLINGS SIXPENCE, WENT IN PRACTICALLY NO TIME. A SECOND PRINTING OF 10,000 IS PLANNED AND ORDERS FOR 14,000 COPIES HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECEIVED. THE PALESTINE INQUIRY COST 2,000 POUNDS (ABOUT $10,000).
“It is the only profit to any party from this unfortunate business,” comments the London Jewish Chronicle.
