The Eighth Annual “Salute to Israel Parade” will be held here on Sunday, May 14, it was announced today by Miss Sarrae Crane, Raymond Patt and Stanley E. Stern, chairmen for the event. The parade is a project of the American Zionist Youth Foundation in cooperation with all major Jewish organizations. This year’s spectacular is expected to include more than 75,000 marchers (representing over 300 schools and youth organizations in the New York metropolitan area), over 50 floats and 40 marching bands. To add to the excitement of the day, bands from all over the country will compete, while marching, in the “Salute to Israel Parade Marching Band Competition.”
