Rudolph Samilovitch, captain of the ice-breaker “Krassin,” which rescued the survivors of the “Italia” disaster, was welcomed on his arrival here with a popular demonstration.
Samoilovitch came to attend the inquiry conducted by a commission into the “Italia” disaster in which part of the airship which General Nobile took to the North Pole was wrecked and some of its crew, including the Jewish scientist Pontremoli, were killed.
