Prominent Jewish authors and journalists participated in funeral services here for Samson Erdberg,well-known Yiddish author, who died at his suburban home in Long Island of a heart attack. He was 70.
Born in Poland, Mr. Erdberg was educated in Warsaw, Berlin and Paris, and came to this country in 1915. He was on the editorial staffs, successively, of the Wahrheit, Tageblatt and the Day-Morning Journal, all national Yiddish dailies. At the same time, he was a prolific author, having written 21 novels. He also translated into Yiddish a number of Hebrew and English classics.
