Dr. Samuel L. Ansbacher, noted New York Jewish physician, assistant director of the Bureau of Child Hygiene of the Department of Health and leader for many years in the anti-diphtheria campaign in the New York public schools, died on Monday night from heart disease at the age of 57. Dr. Ansbacher was born in Yonkers, attended public school in Harlem and received his medical degree in New York in 1896.
