Samuel Fels, recognized here as the original of “Mr. Felsberg” in Irving S. Cobb’s Judge Priest stories and one of the pioneer wholesale merchants of Paducah, died’ here a few days ago following a brief illness of pneumonia.
He was about 90 years old and came to this country from Germany as a boy, beginning his business career as a peddler.
