Samuel Goldsmith to Head Chicago Jewish Charities

Samuel Goldsmith, executive director of the Bureau of Social Research in New York, has been named director of the Chicago Federation of Jewish Charities, to succeed Louis M. Cahn. Mr. Goldsmith, who is 38, was a former general secretary of the council of Y. M. H. A.’s and organizing secretary of the Jewish Welfare Board for welfare work in the United States Army and Navy. He was also secretary of the National Council of Jewish Social Service.
