A combination for the erection in Palestine of modern hotels will be the result, it was learned here today, of negotiations conducted by Samuel C. Lamport, New York cotton merchant and prominent communal worker, who is returning from a visit to Palestine.
Mr. Lamport, who studied the project while in Palestine, has succeeded in interesting Major Frank Goldsmith, former M. P., who is a brother-in-law of James Rothschild, in the project. Major Goldsmith is the owner of the Hotel Scribe in Paris and other well known hotels in France. Major Goldsmith will come to the United States in September and will seek to enlist American capital in the enterprise. He also studied the project while in Palestine recently.
