Samuel Rabinovich, a veteran Zionist and Argentine Jewish communal leader, died here today at the age of 77. He was one of the founders and a former president of the DAIA, the representative organization of Argentine Jewry.
Born in Bessarabia, Mr. Rabinovich came to Argentina in 1904 and was a founder of the Argentine Zionist Federation. He was a former president of the Buenos Aires Kehilla and of the Argentine Federation of Kehillot. He was also a founder and former president of the Argentine Lodge of B’nai B’rith. Active in the work of the Keren Hayesod, he was the first president of the United Campaign here in 1948. He also served as chairman of the General Zionist party here.
