Samuel Rothberg, president of Israel Investors Corporation, whose investments in Israel’s industries approximate $18,000,000, was honored at a dinner here this weekend for his outstanding role in the development of Israel’s economy. A total of $832,000 worth of shares in Israel Investors Corporation was sold in conjunction with the dinner. The company now has more than 5,000 stockholders in various parts of the country.
Messages of tribute to Mr. Rothberg for his leadership in every phase of American Jewish effort in behalf of Israel were received from Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, Foreign Minister Golda Meir, Pinhas Sapir, Minister of Finance and Commerce and Industry, and Ambassador Avraham Harman. Speakers at the dinner included Ira Guilden, chairman of the event, who presided; Julian B. Venezky; Aryeh Manor, Economic Minister of the State of Israel; Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, vice president of the Israel Bond Organization, and Louis H. Boyar, chairman of the Board of Israel Investors Corporation.
