THE EVENING STANDARD publishes a report saying that it has authentic information to the effect that Sir Herbert Samuel is coming to England for the purpose of reviewing with the Government the “some what serious situation” that has arisen since the Arab boycott of the elections. The STANDARD predicts that Samuel will resign unless the policy he is obliged to administer is modified. It is probable, the correspondent asserts, that the change will be similar to that made in the Mesopotamian policy a few months ago.
The report of the London JEWISH WORLD that the High Commissioner would upon resigning settle in Palestine as a private individual is scouted by the STANDARD, which declares that Sir Herbert is an extremely able man and might have a political renaissance like that of Stephen McKenna.
