Funeral Services were held yesterday in Brooklyn for Samuel Van Blitz, internationally known antiquarian, who died Friday at his home near Butler’, N. J., at the age of sixty-nine. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery, Maspeth, L. I.
Mr. Van Blitz served the Metropolitan Museum of Art and numerous private collectors in his capacity as an antiquarian. He also was known as a sculptor, painter, linguist, singer, and an expert in the cultivation of wine grapes.
Born in Holland, Mr. Van Blitz nine years ago came to this country and for two years resided in Brooklyn before moving to Butler
His widow, Deborah, a brother, Leon, of Paris, and two sisters in Holland survive.
