Backed by civic leaders, the San Francisco Jewish community today began plans to extend an ovation to Prof. Albert Einstein when he arrives here January 2 aboard the S. S. Belgenland. Mayor James Rolph, Jr., who is governor-elect of California, Mrs. M. C. Koshland, and Edward Rainey, Mr. Rolph’s secretary, have arranged a conference at which a general committee will be named to arrange for the welcome of the world-renowned scientist.
