San Francisco Zionists, at a rousing mass meeting held at Temple Beth Israel, unanimously adopted resolutions calling for the boycott of German goods and services until Jews in Germany are restored to citizenship and given full rights.
Voting on the resolution followed a symposium on the subject: “Shall there be an economic boycott on German goods and services?”
All of the speakers leading the discussion favored a boycott as the only means of bringing the Nazi government to a full sense of justice and humanity. The only difference of opinion was as to whether the boycott should be pressed officially or silently.
The opinion finally prevailing was that every peaceful means had been exercised during the last seven months of terror to have the Nazi government relent in its discriminations and persecutions and that, in spite of this, the situation had grown worse.
The speakers engaging in the discussion were Dr. Bernard Kaufman, Ralph Stern, Gus C. Ringole, Lucius L. Solomons, Jewel Alexander, and Sol Silverman.
