Dr. Armando Salles Oliveira, newly elected civil governor of the State of Sao Paulo, is well known as a friend of the Jews. Dr. Oliveira is a prominent journalist, and has many times defended the Jew against the attacks of enemies in his newspaper, O Estado Sao Paulo.
In his inaugural speech Dr. Oliveira emphasized the fact that he was determined to preserve the freedom of all national groups and would not permit any form of persecution or incitement.
