Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir, speaking in the Knesset yesterday, dashed Israelis’ hopes that the cease-fire will ease their financial burdens. “Even if a peace agreement with the Arabs were to be signed,” he declared, “we should have to maintain our security vigilance for many years to make sure that the peace is kept.”
