Congregation Shearith Israel of 2 West Seventieth street received $1,075 cash and the residuary estate of Sarah Lyons according to the terms of her will which was filed for probate in the Surrogates’ Court here.
Miss Lyons, who died here on June 21, left an estate of “more than $5,000 and less than $10,000,” according to the formal estimate on petition for probate.
The will, which was dated February 18, 1931, directed that the residuary estate be known as the Sarah Lyons Fund, and that the income be used for the benefit of the Poloneise Talmud Torah School. The cash bequest is for the upkeep of the family grave.
