Saudi Arabia has become the ninth country to place Barclays Bank on the Arab boycott black-list, according to reports from the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The move follows Barclays’ refusal to terminate its 50 percent stake in Barclays Discount Bank, set up jointly five years ago with the Israel Discount Bank. Barclays are unlikely to alter their policy of trading with Israel, where they have been established for more than half a century.
