Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Sheik Omar Sakaf said in a newspaper interview here that Israel must withdraw to the pre-1967 borders if a peace settlement is to be reached in the Middle East. When asked whether Saudi Arabia would recognize the Jewish State if it agreed to withdraw to these borders, he replied: “There are many countries existing today without our recognition.” Sakaf, currently on a tour of the Scandinavian countries, made these statements to the Danish daily. “Berlingske Tidende,” before leaving Denmark for Sweden.
