That Henry Ford in a race for Presidency would have to count on the opposition of Catholics as well as of the Jews, is the opinion of David Lawrence, head of the Consclidated Press Service and regarded as one of to best posted newspaper correspondents in America.
Mr. Lawrence declares that Ford’s campaign against the Jews is in conformity with the principles of the Ku Klux Klan and whether the Klan indorsed him or not, he would be given the Klan label by his opponents. Under these circumstances large numbers of Catholics would be inclined to oppose any man even slightly favored by the Klan.
Lawrence in his artice arrives at the conclusion that Ford stands no chance with either of the two major parties. but that running as a third party candidate. he might get enough electoral votes to throw the election into the House of Representatives.
