Any suggestions made by the Mandates Commission regarding measures to be adopted for the better carrying out of the objectives of the Palestine Mandate will receive the most careful consideration of the British government, the House of Commons was informed today by Dr. Drummond Shiels, under-secretary for the colonies.
His assurance was made in the course of his reply to a question from Ormsby Gore in which Dr. Shiels affirmed that the observations of the Mandates Commission on its recent Palestine extraordinary session had been received by the British government and that they would be published by the secretariat of the League of Nations together with the Mandates Commission’s report to the Council of the League of Nations.
Dr. Shiels pointed out that the present government, like its predecessors, being responsible for Palestine, would continue to administer the country in accordance with the terms of the Mandate and would give most careful consideration to any suggestions of the Mandates Commission for better carrying out the terms of the Mandate.
