“Aryanism as a racial slogan in Middle Europe is only another name for the recurrent wagging of the Jew as the bogeyman with which to frighten the under-dog masses and arouse them to violence.”

DIFFERENCES OF OPINION

An appeal to all men to respect the other man’s point of view was made by Rabbi Joseph Zeitlin in his sermon at Temple Ansche Chesed, 100th street and West End avenue.

“At this important festival of Christmas, it is well for all men, regardless of faith, to remember that practically all religions of the world agree upon what are the ideals of life.

“All are anxious for the attainment of truth, justice, mercy and love. The one point, however, upon which most of us disagree is the matter of the methods to be used in the attainment of our ideals.

“Each religion has, if you will, a different path upon which it walks to the mount. At this important season, let all men learn to respect the differences of opinion that exist amongst them.

“It is through that reverence for the other man’s point of view, regardless of how contrary it may be to ours, that we can hope to establish peace on earth to all men.”

Julius Barasch in the 1850’s founded the first scientific journal in Rumania and also established the first children’s hospital in Bucharest.
