Says Thuringia Would Be Satisfied if Jews Avoided That Province Entirely

Thuringia would be perfectly satisfied if the Jews avoided that province of Germany, declared the National Socialist deputy, Slauckel, at a conference of members of the Thuringian parliament to discuss the proposed anti-schechita legislation that will shortly come up for a vote. The anti-schechita bill is being sponsored by the anti-Semitic National Socialists. Although the National Socialists in control of the provincial government are pushing this piece of legislation deliberately aimed at the Jews it does not have the united approval of the population of the province. Sharp protests from various Thuringian municipalities such as Weimar and Eisenach have been registered against the law. Resort owners in Thuringia feel that the passage of such a law would greatly injure their business from tourists.
