Mortimer L. Schiff, philanthropist and partner in the banking firm of Kuhn, Loeb and Company, is chairman of the Opening Dinner Committee for the 1930 campaign of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies. The campaign, which will formally open on October 19 with a dinner at the Hotel Commodore, will have as its aim the raising of $2,221,000 in this city for the maintenance of the ninety-one social agencies comprising the Federation, it was announced by Dudley D. Sicher, president. This sum represents the deficit on a budget of $5,499,000, the remainder having already been secured, according to Mr. Sicher.
Four hundred and fifty-one leaders of the philanthropic, business and professional groups of New York will serve with Mr. Schiff on the committee.
