Rabbi Alexander M, Schindler, Union of American Hebrew Congregations president, has been designated to serve as a member of the World Zionist Organization Executive and will assume his seat on the American Section, representing the World Union for Progressive Judaism. He joins the WZO Executive as a second member representing the international Reform movement, Rabbi Richard Hirsh serves on the WZO Executive in Jerusalem.
The WZO has been significantly strengthened by the addition of the World Union to its ranks, said Mrs., Charlotte Jacobson, chairman of the WZO-American Section. At the same time, she added, “the Reform movement has given realistic form and structure to the concern for and support of Israel.”
